The men/women of the Bible are real… walk where they walked

First off, the last thing this post is is original. I give all credit to good mentors Mick and Rolane Boersma, but inspiration to post is def from HolySpirit.
After visiting places like Turkey, Greece and Rome and walking where the biblical people walked, one profound discovery is how Americans feel these biblical characters as fictional… but when you travel thru Philippi everyone knows that Lydia existed, there’s a Lydia Hotel for example, and these were all real people and events. Another powerful thing is that you see how far and crazy Paul journeyed for the sake of sharing the Gospel to all those he could reach! Through dangerous snowy mountainous passes, through valleys, along coasts, hours at a time in vehicle (longer by foot), hundreds of miles, this was “the path of a man who gave up his own personal comfort for the salvation of strangers.” Walking these journeys, the lands of the Bible and the contexts in which stories happened all make sense, it’s such an experience I long for and hope to soon experience! To see the Bible in front of your eyes and become familiar with the story of God in history is a powerful thing.
As those who have gone can share, it connects to more than just the knowledge that the Book you read isn’t a fairytale, it touches the soul and heart to know that the God you believe in is real.
That these lives really were transformed.
From Christ-haters, Godless sinners, prideful leaders, to passionate and humble and sacrificial Believers in the One who really was the Messiah we’ve all been needing and waiting for!
And we are the same. We are the continuing journey in this race of the generations. Run the race, knowing your God deeper daily, and find life and your purpose!
